We are thrilled to have the day opened by Murray Dawson Smith CEO of Amaze (Autism Victoria).
The day then consists of expert guest speakers in their field:

A reminder that all workshops can be run on site in your school or community facility. Please contact Cathy Love to discuss your groups specific needs.
Cathy Love (Acc Occupational Therapist) will be presenting all sessions. Cathy has over 25 years clinicl experience working with chidlren. She has presented at conferences and run workshops privately and in educational and community settings for may years. Her workshops are responsive, informative and practical. All workshops with the exception of the Paeds OT intensive are suitable for health professionals, occupational therapists, teachers, parents and classroom assistants.
All workshops are to be held at The Bentleigh Club, 33 Yawla St Bentleigh. Ample free onsite parking is available. Morning and afternoon tea and a light lunch will be provided.
Movement and Me
This terrific day is dedicated to those children who struggle with managing their body movements day after day. The day will be informative, highly playful and practical.

Dyspraxia - Practical Strategies for Home and School
A brief overview of dyspraxia and its typical presentation in the primary school student will be presented. Topics covered will include:
« Assessment, diagnosis, clinical observations

Strategies to boost motor skills at home and school

This session will assist you to work with mainstream primary school students who have handwriting difficulties. Topics covered will include:

This programme provides a "hands on" approach to working with students with organisational difficulties. Formal assessment tools are often of little help so careful observations, interview and a problem solving approach is usually required. Topics covered will include:

« Classroom storage and routines
« Strategies to help students with time management
« Fanatical diary use, calendars, time tables, checklists, to do lists, visual scheduling
« Building and sustaining independence

Cathy Love (OT) and invited speakers will present this comprehensive programme. This workshop is suitable for new graduates and those wishing to fast track their Paediatric OT knowledge. Occupational therapy evaluation methods and intervention strategies for several diagnostic conditions will be presented in a highly interactive and practical way.
Throughout the programme there will be participation in book and article reviews, case studies, online data gathering and small group activities. Time will be provided to discuss and reflect on new information, record your learning journey and plan how best to implement newly gained knowledge. It is strongly recommended that you attend with a laptop and wireless broadband dongle if at all possible.
